Chris Puterbaugh Reflects On Cancelled Ascension Franchise: "It Was Drawn Out For Months"
Chris Puterbaugh, CEO, actor and filmmaker from Cineflight Studios, has made some statements about the cancelled 'Ascension' franchise. Read the story below:
"While filming the first installment back in 2023, I didn't really expect much from the film itself. I was in hopes that it would become a franchise, as it was a major hit with the largest cast we have ever had in a single film, to date. The audience reception was amazing, and overall faired pretty good with the viewers and critics alike. When there was talks of making a second installment, we had originally planned to film one sequel and wrap up the story. However, we had multiple delays, and set backs and we cancelled it. We then tried again months later, and decided we'd split the second story into two parts to bring more emphasis into the picture, but that quickly fell apart, mostly due to a lead backing out, and multiple filming delays because of scheduling. It was unfortunate we didn't get to explore more of why humanity is at risk of loosing this planet due to climate change, but I guess it will tell itself, in the future."

The Sammy Ingram Documentary: Chris Puterbaugh Explains Why The Manifestation Content Creator Was "Misleading People"
The Sammy Ingram Documentary, a 10 minute long film, describing the toxicity from the manifestation community, sparked interest from viewers alike who watch Sammy Ingram. Chris Puterbaugh, the creator behind the documentary, was met with backlash from the creator and many fans from the film. Read his statement below:
"The film was never meant to defame, badmouth or ridicule, Sammy. I was a part of her popular manifestation group "Sammy's Mermaid Gang" on Facebook. I had asked a question regarding her "prices" on "Flossie's" page, as an ad stated her 45 min "phone call" for manifestation was 150$ something dollars. I was like "HOLY SHIT". "That's insane". I believe that the pricing for people simply wanting to turn their life around, were being scathed for ridiculous prices and circumstances. Sammy actually inboxed me herself, and threatened to press legal action against me, but based on fair-use laws, unfortunately she couldn't. I think the whole situation was stupid, but she does treat her followers like trash if she gets annoyed with them. I do, believe in manifestation, but sometimes it can be toxic, as described in the ways the documentary outlines. I believe her followers and community are a great asset, to learning manifestation, but when you exclude someone from being a part of something, because they have questions, and then go to social media for answers, and then get removed from participating, it becomes a drama fire, and she definitely doesn't want the exposure and the questions, that many like me have said she needs to answer." Chris Puterbaugh Reflects Back On Past 'Horror Stone Series' Films, And Why He Want's The New Remake Film 'The Forest' To Outdo The Old:
"In 2017, we really had no idea what the hell we were even doing. It was December 2017, and I had friend's over, and one night I wanted to film a short film. Out of curiosity, all of us decided we'd do a horror film called "Horror Stone", essentially about an entity coming to our house and haunting us, and all hell breaks loose. We filmed it essentially in one night. We then got a whopping big reception on it, and we decided to do two more films. In March 2017, we had filmed the follow up, 'The Forest' and shot it within one weekend, and then released it in June. We then finished the sequel, 'Corpse Rise' in the summer and released it in 2018. Those films were what made me want to get into filmmaking, and acting. They set something off inside me that made me want to do more.
Almost 10 year later, I am in college, and want to redo the series in one film, just re do the whole thing. The old series was NOT our best work, we had shaky cameras, bad acting and ridiculous stunts and laughable audio and visuals. I really knew that we had to go back and revist this, because it was our childhood, our golden teenage era, a highschool memory. We did do a sequel revival film 'Vengeance' in 2021, but it was not as well received as the past films, and it was during a time in my life where the film itself made no sense. It's never talked about.
We announced we are doing a follow up remake of the series first two films, and the end of the third one, as one big film. We came up with 'The Forest', because everyone in the original series loved the second one, the story, and everything in between. I really want the original cast and all my friends and new audience members to see the difference in what has happended in my life in the way I was impacted by the old series, and then the new experiences I am learning in school with. I know that there is going to be nothing compared to this project, once it releases, it's going to be a big deal and a staple that will shoot us into the future of our channel and content. I cannot wait for you to see where this takes us.
