The movie was originally supposed to be filmed back in August 2023, however, a flimsy film schedule and multiple delays pushed the movie to the side. The studio says this project is important to the cast because it is a big 'film' and 'significant' part of Cineflight Studios's original history. The film will be going into pre-production with full scale production slated sometime later this summer. The original cast is expected to return, Mccurry, Puterbaugh, and Colvin. The plot will be loosely based on the original film, with a lot more emphasis over action. For more details, stay up to date on our socials.

'Ascend' Getting Sequel Treatment, 3 Years After 'Phoenix', Bethany McCurry Returns To Warn About The Return Of The Alien Invasion In NEW Clip. What The Film Bring's To The Franchise:
On Saturday March 22, a new spot dropped unexpectedly for a new sequel for 2018's 'Ascend'. The spot showed an aerial of a city, a ufo with comets in the sky, and Bethany McCurry returning as Sarah to call Nick to warn him, "it's happening again".
The franchise from 2018 that spawned two sequels, 'Ascend: Genesis', and 'Phoenix', was popular among it's viewers with a whopping 1400 views since it's debut. The film centered around a group of friend's uncovering the secrets about an alien invasion, was a hit for the channel at the time. McCurry, Puterbaugh and Colvin, the franchise's original cast, was recently filming a school project for Puterbaugh when McCurry wanted to film a seperate piece for an idea for a new sequel. It is not clear what the film will be about, other than lost files being resurrected, and the invasion returning.
The franchises' last film, 'Phoenix' ended the story with Puterbaugh's character and Mollie Bean's character defeating a new leader, "Edith" that was inspired by "Jr Vincent", the grandpa behind the invasion. The franchise was only meant for 2 sequels, but in 2019, the cast and crew weren't able to film a direct sequel due to cast constraints, which weakened the film franchise severely. The film was offset and didn't recieve as good reviews as it's predecessor. In 2021, the studio released a third entry that continued the story, and exclusively premiered at a Cinepolis theater in Miamisburg Ohio, with fair reception.
Now in 2025, the studio is looking to film a direct sequel to 2018's Ascend, and will be filmed as a direct part 2, as compared to a part 4. The film will return Puterbaugh, and McCurry for now.
